El mercado antes de las siete

PacoTap a word to see what it means.

Al amanecer (dawn) el Mercat Central todavía está medio dormido (asleep), pero el bullicio (bustle) empieza antes de que abran las puertas.

Show the English

At dawn the Mercat Central is still half asleep, but the bustle starts before the doors open.

Three questions on this

Most apps teach you to recognize Spanish. Pensar gets you making it.

  1. Read or listen

A story or a voice-note chat between locals, written for your level.

  2. Answer in your own words

Type it or say it. It doesn't have to be tidy. Paco reads for the idea.

  3. See what worked

Paco tells you what you got right first, then the one thing to fix. No red crosses.

Listen

Hear Spanish, city by city

Short voice notes between locals, at your level, then a question about what you heard. Slow it down whenever you need to.

Listen: voice notes between Marcos, behind the bar, and Bea, a regular, each with its English one tap away

Read

Stories written for your level

Mostly words you know, a few you don't. Tap any of them for its meaning, then answer three questions in your own words.

A story about Carlos's job at a hotel, with words underlined to tap and the first of three questions below

Journal

Write it. Paco fixes it.

Write or say a page a day. Paco reads it and marks the tricky bits right in your own words, starting with what you got right.

A journal page about a day at the beach, with three bits marked, what worked, and the points it earned

Words

Point at it. Learn it.

Point your camera at a menu, a sign or the things around you, and Paco names them in your Spanish. Keep the words you meet and practice them in quick card sessions.

Learn the Spanish of the place you love

Choose whose Spanish you're learning. The voices, the everyday words and the verbs follow your choice, and your scenes happen in real cities.

  • ¡Qué chido!MexicoMexico City, Oaxaca
  • ¡Qué copado!Argentina and UruguayBuenos Aires, Montevideo

"That's cool," four ways. Pensar also teaches the Spanish of the rest of Latin America, from Havana to Cusco.

Paco is a very patient parrot, and your coach. He's powered by AI, so he can read anything you write or say and answer it, and like any AI he can sometimes be wrong.

What happens to what I write?

Your journal is private to your account, and voice recordings stay on your device. The privacy policy explains exactly what Paco's AI sees and what we keep.
